Overview of Narita Tobu Airport Hotel

The Narita Tobu Airport Hotel is located in an excellent spot, only about three minutes from Narita Airport at the shortest.

There is a free shuttle bus directly connecting the airport and the hotel, which makes it a perfect place to stay if your flight arrives late at night or if you need to catch an early morning departure the next day.

Check in starts at 3 pm and check out is at 11 am.

All rooms come with double size beds. The facilities are a little dated, but considering the convenience and overall cost, I think the hotel offers good value for money.

For this Narita Tobu Airport Hotel Review, I booked my stay through Expedia.

Since I booked at the last minute, only a twin bed room was available and the price was around NZD 120 per night with a breakfast buffet included.

All rooms are non smoking and have free Wi Fi. The hotel grounds include a coin laundry, drugstore, convenience store, gym, and restaurant, so everything you need is available within the property.

Once you leave Narita Airport, there is very little around the area, so being able to do everything inside the hotel is very convenient, especially after a long flight.

For this trip, I arrived at Narita Airport Terminal 1 around 5 pm. I took the Air New Zealand direct flight from Auckland.

It took about an hour for my luggage to come out, and after that I picked up the eSIM I had purchased in advance. I finally left the airport just before 7 pm and headed straight to the hotel.

Free Shuttle Bus from Narita Airport

The Narita Tobu Airport Hotel offers a free shuttle bus directly connecting the hotel and Narita Airport. Below is a quick overview of the bus stops at each terminal and the approximate travel time to the hotel.

Shuttle Bus Stop

Estimated Travel Time

Narita Airport Terminal 1, 1st floor, Bus Stop 16

10 to 15 minutes

Narita Airport Terminal 2, 1st floor, Bus Stop 25

3 to 5 minutes

There is no direct shuttle bus from Terminal 3, so you will need to walk to Terminal 2 or take the airport's internal shuttle bus, then board the hotel shuttle from there.

For this trip, I boarded the shuttle from Terminal 1. From the South Wing S2 exit on the first floor, I walked to Bus Stop 16.

The stop is located across one intersection on the island area, and several other hotel shuttles operate from the same stop, including ANA Crowne Plaza and Art Hotel Narita.

You can check the shuttle timetable between Narita Airport and Narita Tobu Airport Hotel from the hotel’s access page.

The hotel staff mentioned that the morning shuttle buses going to the airport tend to get very crowded, so it is best to wait at the entrance early.

The evening shuttle from the airport to the hotel was not crowded at all, but between 7 and 8 am the next morning, the lobby was very busy with guests checking out, heading to breakfast, and waiting for the shuttle bus.

Shuttle Bus to JR Narita Station and AEON Mall Narita

The hotel also operates a shuttle bus between JR Narita Station and the Narita Tobu Airport Hotel.

This route stops at AEON Mall Narita, so if you have extra time, you can do some shopping on the way.

Hotel Facilities, Drugstore, and Souvenir and Convenience Store

The hotel consists of two buildings, the East Wing and the West Wing.

The main entrance where the shuttle bus arrives is located in the East Wing.

Just to the right of the entrance, you will find a small Matsumoto Kiyoshi drugstore and a convenience store called Kyoto Craft Mart.

Matsumoto Kiyoshi carries basic skincare products, medicines, drinks, and snacks.

The convenience store is half souvenir shop and half convenience store. It offers Japanese style goods and character items, as well as typical snacks and drinks.

When I visited around 7 pm, the convenience store shelves were a little empty, possibly because of the time of day. Even so, they still had enough light meal options such as bento, rice balls, and instant noodles.

It is a convenient option for anyone who prefers a cheap meal, or for those who forgot to buy food at Narita Airport and want something quick without going to the restaurant.

Microwave, Vending Machines, and Ice Cream Dispensers Inside the Hotel

Near the elevators, there are several vending machines including soft drinks and a Seventeen Ice ice cream machine.

The drink prices are a bit higher than usual, so I recommend buying beverages either at the hotel shop or at Narita Airport before heading to the hotel.

Room Review at Narita Tobu Airport Hotel

For this stay, I booked a Corner Deluxe Twin Room in the West Wing.

The beds were spacious double size beds, and there was a table with chairs by the window where you could sit and eat or work.

The bathroom was a typical Japanese business hotel style unit bath, and the water pressure in the shower was strong.

Shampoo, conditioner, body soap, and a hair dryer are provided in the room.

Amenities are kept to a minimum, so items like shower caps, hairbrushes, extra tea, and toothbrushes can be collected from the amenity station next to the front desk. You can take only what you need, which is very convenient.

Enough Space to Open a Suitcase

There are USB charging ports around the beds, which made it easy to charge my phone and other devices.

Even with two twin beds side by side, the room still had enough space in front of the beds to fully open a suitcase without any trouble.

Desk for Laptop Work

The room had a large table that could fit both a laptop and a portable monitor.

The chair was more comfortable than the typical firm chairs found in many business hotels. While working long hours might be challenging, it was perfectly suitable for a few hours of desk work or remote tasks.

Breakfast Buffet at Narita Tobu Airport Hotel

My stay included breakfast, so I brought the breakfast ticket I received at check in and headed to the restaurant.

The breakfast venue is on the first floor of the West Wing, the same building as the guest rooms. The buffet is served at Restaurant Oasis.

There was a live cooking station where the chef made omelettes to order. The buffet area itself was not very large, but the selection was more than enough, offering a good balance of both Japanese and Western dishes.

The hotel bread was delicious, and the omelette the chef made for me was especially good. You can choose the fillings for your omelette, and I asked for mushrooms, cheese, and onions.

There were plenty of seats inside the restaurant, so I was able to enjoy my meal comfortably.

Solo travelers would probably appreciate the window side seats, which offer a relaxed and quiet place to sit.

The breakfast buffet is open from 6:30 am to 9:30 am. Because of jet lag, I woke up very early and went right at opening time.

Around a little after 7 am, many guests arrived all at once and the restaurant started to get crowded.

In addition to Kyoto style home cooked dishes, there was also a local specialty from Chiba called iwashi no tsumire jiru, a japanese sardine fishball soup.

I tried the soup and it had a light and gentle flavor that was very enjoyable.

There were about five or six types of bread available, and you could enjoy them warm, freshly baked from the oven.

Since the buffet offered both Japanese and Western options, you can choose whichever style you prefer.

Summary of My Honest Review at Narita Tobu Airport Hotel

Here is a summary of my stay at the Narita Tobu Airport Hotel and my overall impressions.

Location and Access

When it comes to access, the hotel is excellent.

The free shuttle bus runs frequently and connects directly to Narita Airport, which is very convenient whether your flight arrives late at night or departs early in the morning.

Room

As for the room, it was fairly spacious and the beds were large, which I appreciated.

However, when I entered the room, I found some leftover snack crumbs on the floor, not only in one spot but also around the bed area.

This is something that needs improvement. Aside from that, the room was relatively clean.

Restaurants

I tried only the breakfast buffet, but it was enjoyable and offered a good variety of dishes.

Service

The service was polite and helpful.

Although my booking included breakfast, I was mistakenly given a 10 percent breakfast discount coupon at check in. When I asked the front desk the next day, they quickly confirmed the issue and exchanged it for the correct breakfast ticket.

The staff speak English, so overseas travelers should have no problem.

Cost Performance

Overall, I think the hotel offers good value for the price. I would consider staying here again when I need accommodation near Narita Airport.
