In this post, I will share about my stay at Namura Prix in Naha, a great place for anyone planning a long stay or workcation in Okinawa.

Office with a laptop on a desk in front of a large window. Cityscape and ocean visible outside on a clear day. Calm, organized space.

Okinawa is one of the most special places for me.

I am originally from the Kanto region, but ever since my first visit with my family as a student, I have been in love with its tropical scenery and the incredibly clear ocean that hardly feels like Japan.

Until now, most of my trips to Okinawa were for diving and sightseeing, so I usually stayed in hotels.

This time, however, I came back to Japan for the first time in a few years and decided to revisit Okinawa for a workcation.

Since I planned to stay for about three weeks, I wanted to settle in one place rather than move between hotels.

At the same time, I needed an environment where I could focus on work, so I started narrowing down options based on weekly apartment style accommodations.

That was when I found the Namura Group. As of 2025, they offer four types of weekly and monthly condominiums in and around Naha, Okinawa.

These include Namura Biante, Namura Residence, Namura Axis, and Namura Prix.

Weekly and monthly condominiums in Naha where you can stay as if you were living there : Namura Group

In terms of grade, the order is Namura Biante at the entry level, followed by Namura Residence, Namura Axis and then Namura Prix at the top.

At first, I considered Namura Biante because it was the most affordable option.

However, its location in Kumoji, the central area of Naha, raised some concerns about safety and noise at night.

Namura Biante : A weekly condominium located in Kumoji, the central district of Naha

There are actually several weekly condominiums in the same Kumoji area, and I requested quotes from a few of them.

One of the properties informed me that because the building next door is a tenant building, there may be noise at night.

I realised that areas like Kumoji and Matsuyama, which are around Kokusai Street and full of bars and restaurants, might not be the best places to rest comfortably.

So I narrowed my options to Namura Residence, Namura Axis and Namura Prix, which are slightly away from the busiest part of central Naha.

Among them, Namura Axis stood out. Despite its luxurious one floor per room layout, the price was quite reasonable.

When I contacted them, I found out that there were no available rooms.

It seems to be one of the most popular properties in the Namura series, and it makes sense considering its layout, which is ideal not only for one or two people but also for families, thanks to the equipped kitchen.

This left me with two final options. One was Namura Residence, where all units are corner rooms with lofts.

The other was Namura Prix, the highest grade property in the series.

Namura Residence : Corner rooms with lofts and unlimited ultra fast internet in every unit

Both properties offered a work desk and an office chair for an additional fee, so either option would have worked for my work setup.

In the end, I decided to go all in and chose Namura Prix, the highest grade property.

The price varies depending on the number of nights and the season, but here is the actual rate I paid for my stay at Namura Prix in 2025.

Room rate per night

¥10,170

Work desk, chair rental

¥1,285

Cleaning fee

¥9,000

Security deposit

¥20,000

Utility costs*

¥9,007

Utilities (water, electricity, and gas) are checked after checkout, and the amount is deducted from your security deposit before the remaining balance is refunded.

In my case, the utility cost was 9,007 yen, so 10,993 yen was refunded to me later from the deposit.

Since I was doing remote work in the room, my air conditioning and electricity use were probably higher than that of a typical sightseeing stay.

If you spend most of the day outside for sightseeing or diving, your utility fees will likely be lower. Depending on the season, the rate may fluctuate between quiet and busy periods. Rooms on the higher floors also cost slightly more.

In addition, the more people you stay with, the lower the cost per night becomes.

When you calculate the total cost including utilities on a per day basis, it comes to around ¥12,000 / day per person.

In Naha, hotels that are reasonably clean are usually around this price anyway.

Considering that Namura Prix offers a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom with a bathtub and shower, and a spacious one residence per floor layout, the value for money is excellent.

A private space with one residence per floor and strong security

There were many things I loved about Namura Prix, but the first and most impressive feature was its luxurious layout with one room on each floor.

In hotels, this kind of privacy is usually found only in high end full building rentals, which often cost around fifty thousand yen per night.

The fact that the higher floors offer ocean views overlooking the Tomari Port area made me feel that choosing Namura Prix was absolutely the right decision.

You cannot enter the apartment building without the key to your room, and the elevator will only take you to the floor you are staying on. This makes the property very secure and safe, even for solo female travellers.

A convenient location with multiple convenience stores, supermarkets and restaurants within walking distance

The central area of Naha around Kokusai Street can get quite rowdy at night with many people drinking, and recently there have even been news reports about questionable substances being exchanged there.

In contrast, the Ameku area where Namura Prix is located is much calmer, with residential streets, the Okinawa Prefectural Museum and a local elementary school nearby.

I did not walk around much at night, but the streets were well lit and there was a twenty four hour supermarket called Ameku Ryubo close by. I never felt worried about encountering drunk people.

Since there are parks and an elementary school nearby, there are many children around during the day and on weekends.

Convenience stores were especially helpful.

Both Lawson and Family Mart were only about a two to three minute walk away.

I often grabbed a cafe latte or a quick snack during work breaks or before starting my day, which was incredibly convenient.

There is a supermarket called Ameku Ryubo just a short walk away, and inside the same building there is a Daiso, which made it easy to pick up small items and daily necessities whenever I needed them.

If you continue walking straight past Daiso, you will find both Uniqlo and Muji.

A little farther from there is Coop Apple Town, a supermarket popular with locals. The prepared foods, especially the sashimi, were more affordable there than at Ameku Ryubo, so I visited almost every day during my stay.

If you keep walking past Coop Apple Town and continue straight, passing the Okinawa Prefectural Museum, you will reach San A Naha Main Place.

It is a large shopping complex that has everything from fresh groceries to family restaurants, Tokyu Hands, Starbucks, drugstores and electronics.

It takes a little over ten minutes on foot from Namura Prix, but the road is straight, so there is no chance of getting lost.

Since shopping in Tokyo can be tiring due to the crowds, I decided to buy as many daily items as possible while in Okinawa and stocked up on cosmetics at Naha Main Place.

From Naha Main Place, it is about a five minute walk to DFS Galleria, which is directly connected to Omoromachi Station on the Yui Rail.

Le Cuip : A delicious local bakery in the Ameku area of Naha

There is also a local bakery called Le Cuip just a two to three minute walk from Namura Prix. Since it opens early in the morning, I visited several times to pick up breakfast.

The bakery originally opened in Ishigaki Island and moved to the main island of Okinawa in 2015.

Wooden sign reading "Le Cuip" on a building facade with spotlights. Large windows reflect city buildings. Warm, inviting ambiance.

They offer a wide variety of breads, including savory items like shrimp tartar bread, butter rolls and hard type maple nut bars.

Everything I tried was delicious! My top recommendation is their Shio Pan (salt bread).

It is simple with the perfect amount of salt, and I enjoyed warming it slightly in the toaster after returning to my room.

Rows of glossy brown bread rolls on a cooling rack with a Japanese sign showing ¥360. The bakery setting feels warm and inviting.

Assorted pastries on a display rack, including croissants and buns. Labels with prices in Japanese yen are visible. Warm lighting.

The sesame bread called Sezam was also excellent when toasted. The sesame aroma became wonderfully fragrant and the texture turned crisp.

It seems to be popular with locals as well. Even around seven in the morning, there were often customers inside the shop.

※Please note that it is cash only. The bakery is closed on Mondays and is open from seven in the morning until seven in the evening.

Location : Within walking distance of central Naha and Kokusai Street

Since it takes about fifteen to twenty minutes to walk from Namura Prix to Omoromachi Station, I decided that if I was going to walk anyway, I might as well explore Okinawa.

So whenever I headed to central Naha or Kokusai Street, I walked every time.

If you walk straight down Route 58, you will reach Miebashi Station on the Yui Rail in a little over twenty minutes.

From Miebashi Station, continuing for another ten minutes will take you to Kokusai Street.

I enjoyed strolling from the Ameku area toward the Tomari Port side, looking at the ocean along the way and stopping by local cafes during the walk.

Blue sky with clouds over a reflective river, bridge, and waterfront buildings. The mood is calm. A tall building is on the right.

The interior of Namura Prix features marble floors and a beautiful chandelier that gives the room a luxurious atmosphere.

Modern office with a beige sofa, massage chair, desk, and cityscape view through large windows. Calm atmosphere with light reflections.

What I especially loved was the one hundred eighty degree panoramic view from the large six meter window.

On clear days, you can even see Shuri Castle. Since I stayed on a high floor, the view from the work desk side was a wide stretch of deep blue ocean, creating a very open and relaxing space.

I requested a work desk and office chair in advance for an additional fee, and I was very glad that the chair was not the stiff wooden type often found in hotels but a proper office chair that did not hurt my back during long hours of work.

The room also had a spacious sofa for relaxing and a dining table for four, along with an ocean view work desk.

Altogether, it was the ideal environment for a comfortable workation in Okinawa.

I love the ocean and living in an ocean view home is one of my dreams. Being able to look up from my work and see the sea from a high floor felt special every single day.

There is also an open deck where you can enjoy the Okinawan breeze while avoiding direct sunlight on nice days.

A fully equipped kitchen with a refrigerator, oven, toaster, cookware and tableware

The kitchen has a three burner IH stove, a grill, a toaster and even a Balmuda oven and electric kettle. It has everything you might need.

There was also a dishwasher, although I did not use it during my stay.

The refrigerator includes a freezer and is large enough for a family of four to stay comfortably without any issues.

As a welcome drink, Okinawan tea and coffee were provided.

Multiple frying pans in different sizes were available, along with cooking utensils such as cooking chopsticks and knives.

There was also a full set of tableware, including a teapot, small plates, large plates and bowls. You can start your stay comfortably from the very first day.

It was also very convenient that garbage could be taken out at any time of day.

There is a Chinese tea shop on the first floor, and next to it there is a designated garbage area for Namura Prix guests.

Cleaning supplies and enough toilet paper for the entire stay were also provided.

Open beige closet with shelves holding cleaning supplies, an iron, folded clothes, and an ironing board. Hangers on rail. Tidy and organized.

A twin bedroom with air conditioning

Separate from the dining room, there is a bedroom with two twin beds.

In studio type rooms with a kitchen, food smells can sometimes cling to the bedding, but with a separate bedroom like the one at Namura Prix, you do not have to worry about that.

The bedroom also had an air conditioner and a television, and a dehumidifier was provided from the first day of my stay.

A drum type washing machine and a bathroom with a bathtub

Behind the bedroom, there is a shower room, and the washbasin area has a modern and clean design. A hair dryer was also provided.

Bathroom with a granite countertop, brown sink, mirror, and two tan towels. Washing machine and detergent bottles on shelves nearby. Warm lighting.

The room comes with a drum type washer dryer, which made it very convenient to handle all washing and drying inside the unit during my stay.

Laundry detergent and fabric softener were provided as well.

Only one laundry net was supplied, so if you have delicate clothes or underwear, it may be better to buy an extra laundry net at the nearby Daiso and place those items inside before washing. A clip hanger was provided.

The shower room has a bathtub and is spacious enough for one adult to use comfortably.

Modern bathroom with white standalone tub, beige tile walls, and floor. A small window, toiletries on a metal rack, and a gray stool. Minimalist vibe.

Body soap, shampoo and conditioner were all provided, so unless you have specific preferences, you will not need to buy anything extra even for a long stay.

A reliable internet environment with Wi Fi suitable for workations

The internet connection was my biggest concern for this workation, but Namura Prix had Wi Fi throughout my stay and I was able to use it without any major issues.

Internet speed test results: Download 27.76 Mbps, Upload 79.15 Mbps, Ping 43 ms. Dark background with teal and purple icons.

There were a few times when the connection slowed down depending on the time of day.

However, it would usually return to normal within thirty minutes to an hour, and it did not happen every day.

It never affected my work, and I was able to work without any problems.

However, I did have trouble downloading large files. If you need to work with very heavy data, such as video editing or running cloud based 3D software, it may be difficult.

PowerPoint work, Illustrator tasks and collaborative work on Figma all worked without issues.

Great service and reliable support before and during the stay

The final reason I was glad I chose Namura Prix was the quality of the service and the staff’s hospitality.

Before deciding on Namura Prix, I had contacted several other weekly and monthly apartments.

Some of them replied only after two or three days, and others said the person in charge would call me back but instead sent a brief email.

These experiences left me feeling a little uneasy.

In contrast, the staff member at Namura Prix communicated with me politely from start to finish.

They sent interior photos and examples of room facilities along with the quote, which gave me a very positive impression and ultimately became one of the deciding factors.

On the first day, I requested an accompanied check in.

The staff member kindly walked me through each feature of the room one by one.

Later during my stay, I emailed to request a scale as an additional item, and they delivered it to my room the same day.

Although Namura Prix is a weekly and monthly apartment rather than a hotel, the reason I was able to enjoy such a comfortable and pleasant long stay in Okinawa was without a doubt thanks to the staff.

They also provided long umbrellas at the entrance, which you could borrow on rainy days. Small gestures like this left an excellent impression.

Namura Prix : Highly recommended for workations and long stays in Okinawa

In conclusion, if you are planning a long stay or a workation in Okinawa, especially in Naha, I highly recommend Namura Prix.

Namura Axis, which is part of the same series, is located very close to Namura Prix, so the location is nearly identical.

When I refer to a workation here, I am assuming a stay of at least one week.

If your workation is only a few days long, you may enjoy your trip more by staying at a hotel along Kokusai Street or at a resort hotel on the west coast.

While it is possible to stay at a hotel near Kokusai Street and work at a coworking space for convenience, people like me who handle confidential documents, have occasional online meetings or work for long periods of time will need a certain level of privacy.

Namura Prix is ideal for those who want a comfortable private space for a workation and for those who want to try a cost effective condominium style stay with a kitchen and one room per floor, allowing them to experience life in Okinawa as if they were living there.

If you are looking for a place to stay for a workation, a long stay or a weekly apartment in Okinawa, especially in Naha, I hope you consider checking out Namura Prix :)
