Project Overview

●Client Information

Through the Wix Marketplace, we received a request for a small-scale website update and CMS implementation from Adelaide-based artist George Linou.

He is a visual artist based in Adelaide, Australia, working across various mediums including oil painting, acrylics, and printmaking.

With over 20 years of experience as a professional visual artist, George Linou has exhibited works in galleries across South Australia.

Some of his works are permanently displayed in Adelaide, and a wide range of artworks including architectural pieces, landscapes, and portraits can be viewed on his website.

●Background of the Request

The client requested support for the following:

  • Fixing overlapping text and image layout issues

  • Resolving elements that appeared on desktop but were missing on mobile

  • Improving the site structure to make future updates easier

Scope of Work

The following areas were handled by LITTLE FUJI Design Studio:

  • Website updates using the Wix Editor (Fixing layout issues, reorganising page sections, and aligning elements across desktop and mobile views)

  • Implementation of a CMS-based artwork page

  • Improvement of menu structure

  • SEO setup (such as adding image alt text)

While maintaining the original design created in the Wix Editor as much as possible, we adjusted areas where text and images overlapped and converted the Architecture page, which contained a large number of works, into a CMS-driven structure.

This allowed the artist to easily update and manage the content.

●Identifying and Reviewing Update Areas

Before making any edits in the Wix Editor, we first captured the current state of the website by saving screenshots of all pages in both desktop and mobile views, and organised the areas that required updates.

To clearly show the differences before and after the update, and to ensure alignment with the client on what changes would be made, we used this approach to provide transparency and reassurance throughout the process.

●Improving the Site Structure for Easier Updates in Wix Editor

Alongside fixing overlapping text and images, we restructured nearly all elements using Wix Editor strips to make future updates easier.

By using strips, we were able to create a clean and consistently aligned layout.

We also added section names to make it easier to identify and manage elements within the Wix Editor interface.

●CMS Implementation: Making It Easy to Add and Sort Artworks

The Architecture page, which contains a large number of artworks, was rebuilt using Wix CMS.

We structured the CMS to include fields such as artwork title, production date, canvas size, and technique type (using tags), allowing the client to easily add and manage artworks from the dashboard.

From the published page, users can also filter artworks by technique type.

●Delivery of Documentation for Site Updates

At the time of delivery, we provided documentation on how to update the CMS via Google Docs, along with screen-recorded tutorial videos demonstrating the process.

🌟Client Review

We received the following feedback from the client:

Q .What made you choose LITTLE FUJI as your designer?

Knew the problems that I was dealing with my web site very professional.

Q .How was your experience working with Aya at LITTLE FUJI?

Easy to communicate and extremely knowledgeable.

This was a case study of a Wix Editor website update, including a small-scale improvement project and CMS implementation.

Through this project, we had the opportunity to explore the client’s diverse range of artworks and gained inspiration from various forms of visual expression.

At a time when AI is becoming increasingly prevalent and the nature of artistic expression is being reconsidered, we were reminded of the unique beauty of traditional art created with canvas and paint.

Blurred people move past framed paintings in a gallery with beige walls and wood floors, creating a dynamic and lively atmosphere.

Each brushstroke carries the flow of time, the artist’s sensitivity, and technical skill, allowing us to imagine the story behind each piece.

It was a project that inspired us to visit museums and exhibitions again and appreciate art more deeply.

At LITTLE FUJI, we offer not only website design using the no-code platform Wix, but also small-scale improvements and updates to existing Wix websites.
