How to Publish, Update and Delete Projects on Rive Marketplace

In this article, I’ll walk you through how to manage your work on Rive Marketplace, including how to update or remove a project after it has been published.

I sometimes notice something I’d like to tweak after publishing a project, or decide that I’d rather remove it from the Marketplace.

If you’ve ever wondered how to update or delete a published Rive project, this guide will show you how.

What is Rive Marketplace?

Rive Marketplace is a place where you can publicly share work created with the interactive animation tool Rive with other users.

Published work can be remixed so you can explore the source file and see how it is structured.

This makes it a useful place to learn how other creators build their animations and interactions.

I often use Rive Marketplace to explore work by top Rive creators when I’m wondering, “Is there an example with an interaction like this?” or “How was this animation created?”

Note: While works are generally available under Creative Commons (CC) licences, make sure to check the licence assigned to each work before reusing it.

How to Publish Your Work on Rive Marketplace

There are two ways to publish your work on Rive Marketplace.

The first is to open the menu in the top-left corner of the Rive Editor and select "Publish to Marketplace".

The second is to click the “Publish” button in the top-right corner of the Editor and select "To Marketplace".

Either method will open a window where you can enter the details for your Marketplace listing.

Here, you can select the animation you want to publish and the timeline you want to use for the thumbnail, as well as enter the title and description of your work.

Once you’ve completed the necessary settings, click “Publish to Marketplace” to publish your work on Rive Marketplace.

Most of my Rive projects are currently client work, so I don’t have many pieces that I can make publicly available.

However, I’ve published a few personal projects and experimental files that I’ve created for research and practice.

I’m planning to create more original UI animation components and other experiments to share on Marketplace, so feel free to follow me if you’re interested!

How to Delete Your Work from Rive Marketplace

To delete a work you’ve already published on Marketplace, open the My Account page on the Rive website in your browser.

Select the Profile tab on your account page to view your Rive profile.

You’ll see a list of the works you’ve published on Marketplace. Select the work you want to edit.

At the bottom of the panel on the right-hand side of the work page, where information such as data binding is displayed, you’ll find a “Delete” button. Click it to remove the work from Marketplace.

There is no option to delete Marketplace work from the Rive Editor, so remember that you need to open your profile page in a browser to do this.

How to Update an Already Published Work

If you make changes to a Rive file that has already been published on Marketplace, you don’t need to delete and republish the work.

To update it, open the publishing details screen from the Rive Editor using the same steps you used when first publishing the work.

Click “Publish an Update”, and the edited version will be reflected on Rive Marketplace.

Summary

The “Publish to Marketplace” option in the Rive Editor is mainly used to publish new work or update an existing version.

If you want to delete something you’ve already published on Marketplace, open your profile in a browser and use the “Delete” button at the bottom-right of the work page.

An easy way to remember it is: publish and update from the Rive Editor; delete from your profile page in the browser.

*Please note that Rive’s UI and Marketplace features may change over time. This article is based on the interface available as of August 2026.
